With the total length of 252.6km and the total investment of over RMB5 billion, Xiangyun ~ Lincang Highway is an important part of the No. 214 National Highway. The line crosses the drainage areas of Honghe River, Lancang River and Nujiang River and passes Wuliang Mountain, with complicated geology. In the six years’ construction, the Company overcame such difficulties as complicated landforms, broken geology, landslide and mud-rock flow area, closely combining science and technology innovation with highway construction. With the reinforced concrete composite beam suspended cable bridge technology, rubber asphalt concrete pavement technology and flexible guardrail applied, it reduced resource consumption, saved investment cost and ensured the quality of the project. The entire project of Xiangyun ~ Lincang Highway lasted for six years in two phases. The first phase covers the section from Lancang River to Lincang with the total length of 142km, completed and passing acceptance examination in July 2006. The second phase covers the section from Xiangyun to Lancang River with the total length of 110km, commenced in 2005 and completed and open to traffic in March 2008.
